Do I have to grease the molds?

 

That depends on what you want to bake and in what form.

 

Ingredients such as cheese or sugar act like glue when they cool down.

 

That's why we recommend greasing the molds when baking with the biscuit base moulds, loaf molds and all molds where you work with such ingredients.

 

A pie and tart pan, for example, does not have to be greased because the dough is quite pure and already contains enough fat.

Can the molds go in the dishwasher?

 

We recommend washing the molds by hand, because the aggressive detergent in the dishwasher can damage the appearance of the mold.

Would you put a good knife in the dishwasher?

We neither. It's similar with these good baking pans.

What do I do if the baking pan ended up in the dishwasher?

 

The discoloration and mysterious "fingerprints" that can appear are actually areas that were partially protected from attack by deposits of protective grease.

 

A powdery residue may also remain, which you should remove by hand with a non-abrasive scouring pad.

 

There is no practical way to restore the surface to its original state.

 

However, since this is a purely aesthetic change to the surface that does not adversely affect baking or health, you can continue to use the mold as normal.

Is baking with aluminum healthy?

 

Yes - with our baking molds.

 

Our baking molds are "anodised" during production - i.e. placed in an electrolytic bath.

 

This process closes the pores and you can safely bake with the molds.

 

It is important to note that the molds are not coated. So nothing can ever flake off that could get into the food.

Can I cut directly on the baking pans?

 

Yes.

 

However, a sharp knife can leave scratches in the mould, but these do not affect the function of the mould.

 

And as said, there is no coating to chip or peel off.

How do you feel about sustainability?

 

Our baking molds are handcrafted to last a lifetime.

 

All bakeware are intentionally uncoated, but undergo a process called "anodizing" that hardens and seals the aluminum core.

 

This creates the distinctive color and a smooth, easily removable and easy to clean surface that is also much more durable and will never peel, blister, warp or rust.

 

The special finish of our bakeware means it will develop its own natural patina over time.

 

Using our bakeware is easy and fulfilling; the joy of a treasured possession that promises a lifetime of perfect baking - that is the ultimate statement for sustainable baking.

Where are the baking molds made?

​

Most of our bakeware is made by a wonderful family artisan business in England. 

​

We say mostly because there are a few baking pans that the manufacturer can't make on site due to a lack of proper equipment. These include, for example, the popular muffin molds or the dome tartlet molds. 

​

As a solution to getting these important bakeware made, our UK manufacturer recommended another manufacturer of equal quality. He produces in China.

 

Since quality and creativity are our top priority, we welcomed the cooperation and are just as convinced of the value as the molds that come from England. 

​

Yes.
