It all started with a cookie. I can still remember the moment when I presented my first homemade cookie. I proudly said "I made it" - I made it. And this sentence - it is hidden in my whole life. I have implemented what is my passion and I am very happy to share it with you.

I studied philosophy and theater studies at Columbia University in New York and worked as a dancer before turning my passion into a career in my adopted home of Berlin. Here I notice again and again how much my studies have shaped me and how I can use the techniques I learned in my everyday life today.

In 1994 I founded Barcomi's coffee roastery in Kreuzberg, followed in 1997 by my Barcomi's Deli in Berlin Mitte.

My books are for all of you - whether baking beginners or advanced cake bakers. My motto is that I'm only as good as my readers can be. I want to bring out the best in you and I firmly believe that anyone can bake.

I launched my Kitchenware line in 2009. Baking tins made of anodized aluminum - which last a lifetime, cookie liners, aprons and baking utensils make up the range today.

Every day I try to create something new, always stay inspired and try to inspire others.
